1) The state of the ASC Clusters proposal – where it is in the approval process, what needs to be done to be ready, possible logistics of implementation.
2) Minimum enrollments for Freshman Seminars – because the number of new proposals for 2006-2007 has outstretched our budget, the Program will have to begin enforcing a minimum enrollment figure for a Seminar to carry. The Subcommittee discussed several numbers but settled on 10 students because: a) That is the number originally agreed to in the guidelines, and b) The Subcom felt that fewer than 10 students participating may inhibit the discussion-based focus of the Seminars.
3) Barbara Haegar’s Freshman Seminar Proposal – the Subcom approved this proposal with minor suggestions.
4) Miriam Conteh-Morgan’s Freshman Seminar Proposal – the Subcom approved this proposal with a few suggestions.
5) Qinghua Sun’s Freshman Seminar Proposal – the Subcom tentatively approved this proposal, contingent upon changes made and approved by the Freshman Seminar Program Director.
