Topics Discussed
1) We approved a Freshman Seminar proposal from Anne Fields (Univ. Libraries), with some suggestions.
2) We asked for some revisions for a Freshman Seminar proposal from Judson Jeffries (Af. And Af-Am Stds).
3) We discussed if the Subcom wanted to have any input on student applications for the Winter 2008 Study Abroad Freshman Seminar. The Subcom decided this should be handled by the Director, OIE, and the faculty involved.
4) We discussed concurrence issues. The Subcom decided the Freshman Seminars do not need to seek concurrence approval but may want to notify departments in special cases. The Subcom also determined that Prof. Path. Courses do not need to seek formal concurrence approval, but should notify relevant academic units about possible concurrence conflicts, and possibly seek ways to get these units involved.
