Present:  Ryden, Nagaraja, Andereck, Turner, Long, Carey (for Krissek), Hadad, Gerlach, Hughes, Hallihan

 

 

 

  1. Elect a chair (Nomination by Hadad for Richard Hughes, 2nd: Gerlach)
    1. Vote: all in favor
  2. Earth Sciences 450 – sent back
    1. Needs concurrence from Geography
    2. New course- new hire Glaciologist Ian Howitt
    3. Elective now, but will be part of new Earth Sciences concentration with 207 as pre-req
    4. 40 students really expected?  27 currently but new BA and existing BS will contribute to increased numbers elective in major. Could also attract Geography students
    5. Consider for a possible GEC course (would need an assessment plan in line with GEC learning objectives)
    6. Change syllabus language from “require” lecture attendance to  “expected”
    7. Could consider test-running this course as a 594.
