Notes

Geological Sciences 205

-approved

  • Syllabus needs revision, No disability statement. One paragraph of description of what the course is about. Frank Schwartz will contact the department to revise the syllabus.

Economics 110.01, 110.02, 110.03

- Committee wants to see it again.

  • The current syllabus for 110 looks like what is proposed as Econ. 110.02. So, committee members wanted to know what will 110.01 look like since it cannot be the same with 110.02.
  • Also, they are asking you to clarify the course title of 110.01. What is the exact title for 110.01?
  •  Committee members also wanted to see the GEC rationale integrated into the syllabus.
  • Another concern is about the assessment plan. Committee members asked for a general assessment plan for these courses. In the assessment plan, they would like to see an explanation/rationale on how these courses are fulfilling the GEC.
  • After straightening out the issues above, committee would like to see these courses again in the next Subcommittee C meeting (on February 8th).

Economics 485

-approved contingent on the followings:

  • There is no outcomes assessment plan.
  • No GEC justification statement in the syllabus.
  • Make sure that you check all the boxes in the new course request form(question # 7, not checked)

Communication 597

-send back

  • How do these topics assess GEC categories? How are you assessing that this course is meeting with GEC requirements?

  • Reconsider the title- It does not seem to be reflective of the class topics(suggestion)

  • What are the prerequisites? J. or Snr. Standing?

  • How does this class promote interaction among students? How is it built into the syllabus
  • Clarify the category 6
