Revision rec'd 2/27/09 with comment below res:

In response to the request from the HUM CCC that "Some members wanted to see a syllabus for the course," History is submitting this syllabus as an example of what one particular professor will do within the simplified framework of 598. Now that History has HUM CCC approval of the rationale of the change, the department has filed the paperwork to change 598 from a "shell course" to a full course, eliminating the decimalization.

HUM CC 3/14/08- No vote taken- course will remain "pending" and Curr Office will follow-up on cmte feedback:
Committee would like more information and possible reorganization of request--

  • Committee was satisfied with rationale for this change
  • Some members wanted to see a syllabus for the course
  • Question about Honors version: if H598 is still decimalized, there may be need to align these course offerings so that H598 is no longer a decimalized course offering
  • Committee recommends a withdraw of the decimalized versions and a course change request to change HIS 598 from current “shell course” status to a full course, which would entail a description and syllabus.
