  • Include an assessment plan for this Diversity category, and include those learning outcomes on the syllabus
  • Use the updated expected learning outcomes from this category (C&AO to send proposer)
  • Provide examples of any assignments that address the International Issues Diversity learning outcomes
  • Include brief topical headers
  • Update the participation section of the syllabus; the concern is vagueness, and with grade disputes with students the current language leaves little faculty recourse, i.e., defining appropriate and proactive participation
  • Suggestion: please use the Portuguese 597.02 syllabus as a guide for some of the above issues

  • Slight reconciliation of course title on ECA form "...Postcoloniality..." with syllabus "..."Post-colonialism..."-- IF ECA FORM NEEDS CHANGED PLEASE CONTACT CURRIC & ASMT OFFICE
  • Please make clear on syllabus that this course (like 597.02) is taught entirely in English
  • Reconcile grading scale for 93 grade range (i.e. 94-100=A)
  • Final Exam: a substitution for an in-class exam finals week may not be within the rules (Provost Allutto's memo emailed as an attachment)
  • Suggestion: There is some question over wording for "First Take-Home Essay and Second Take-Home Essay"- Committee suggests removing "in lieu of in-class midterm and final exams, or term papers" and include "You will be asked to complete at home mid course and final essays and email to me...."
  • Suggestion: Before the course goes to Subcommittee for GEC vetting label rationale document as such as separate statement & separate the Diversity GEC rationale elements from the Capstone rationale elements
