2-23-10: Feedback sent by J. Fredal to D. Lowry and L. Beer: Course approved by Sciences CCI Subcommittee with one “contingency concerning the course number.  The committee noted that the Office of Registrar has indicated that "Introduction to ..." courses should be listed at the 2XX level, and that the 282 number is available in the Department of Women's Studies.  Committee members were not clear why the course would be listed as a 300 level course in Women's Studies, but as a 200 level course in English.  Though cross listed courses are occasionally numbered differently, there was no clear rationale for the difference in this case. Therefore, the committee requested either that Women's Studies change the number to 282 or that the proposers offer a rationale about why the numbers should be different” (bv).
