1-14-13: GE Education Abroad approved with contingency:

  • Syllabus (p. 5) refers to two courses. This is confusing and should be corrected.

-Top of page: “The study program is designed as two courses implemented in a four week period.”

-Grading: “Grades totaling 200 points for the 2-week course series will be based . . .”

Administrative 12-10-12: Decision from dept to not request Cultures and Ideas GE status.bv December 11, 2012

10-26-12: No vote take. Panel requests following points be addressed first:

  • Provide GE rationale and GE assessment plan for requested Cultures and Ideas GE category. ( see instructions pp. 41-42: https://asccas.osu.edu/sites/asccas.osu.edu/files/ASC_CurrAssess_Operations_Manual_2012-13.pdf )

  • Syllabus p. 1: Remove reference to “GEC” (as “GEC” was used under quarters; under semesters, Ohio State uses “GE”). On same page, remove reference to “Breadth requirement” (as this no longer exists under semesters).

  • Number of the course is incorrect on the syllabus (p.1). Should say 2797.01 instead of 2797.1

  • Readings should be reflected in weekly schedule. (Panel’s rationale is that students need to be able to manage their time and, therefore, know what is expected of them.)
