10-26-12: approved with contingencies (bv):

  • Opening line of GE information is confusing, namely “This course fulfills the following GE requirements:  1) ‘Historical Study,’ 2) ‘Culture & Ideas or Historical Study,’ 3) Open Option, and 4) ‘Global Studies’.” It is confusing because the statement is partly advising information. Request to change the statement to “This course fulfills the following GE requirements:  1) ‘Historical Study’ and 2) ‘Global Studies’.”

     

  • Under the expected learning outcomes for Historical Study and under the expected learning outcomes for Global Studies, there are two paragraphs “Rationale for fulfilling the GE Learning Outcomes for Historical Study” and “Rationale for fulfilling the GE Learning Outcomes for Global Studies.” It is the same generic information that is provided for all courses, whereas the faculty member should provide course-specific information here.

     

  • Grading: should say “7 quizzes” (instead of 6 quizzes).

     

  • Ask for concurrence from Classics
