10-26-12: No vote take. Panel requests following points be addressed first:

  • Provide evidence that this is a 3-credit hour course. The Ohio Board of Regents specifies that “One semester credit hour will be awarded for a minimum of 750 minutes of formalized instruction that typically requires students to work at out-of-class assignments an average of twice the amount of time as the amount of formalized instruction (1,500 minutes).” See: https://www.ohiohighered.org/calendar-conversion/definition
  • In effect, that means that the combination of 12.5 credit hours of formalized instruction and 25 hours of homework make up 1 semester credit hour. A 3-credit hour course would have 37.5 hours of formalized instruction and approximately 75 hours of homework.

  • Readings should be listed in syllabus and outlined in the schedule.

  • Assignments should be fleshed out. That is, information about the format of all homework, assignments, and examinations should be provided.

  • Academic misconduct link is broken (http;//studentaffairs.osu.edu/info_for_students/csc.asp) Please use correct link: http://studentlife.osu.edu/csc/
