10-26-12: No vote take. Panel requests following points be addressed first:
-
Provide evidence that this is a 3-credit hour course. The Ohio Board of Regents specifies that “One semester credit hour will be awarded for a minimum of 750 minutes of formalized instruction that typically requires students to work at out-of-class assignments an average of twice the amount of time as the amount of formalized instruction (1,500 minutes).” See: https://www.ohiohighered.org/calendar-conversion/definition In effect, that means that the combination of 12.5 credit hours of formalized instruction and 25 hours of homework make up 1 semester credit hour. A 3-credit hour course would have 37.5 hours of formalized instruction and approximately 75 hours of homework.

Assignments should be fleshed out. That is, information about the format of all homework, assignments, and examinations should be provided.
