• Some issues with the syllabus, as seen in previous submissions:  
• Opening line of GE information is confusing, namely “This course fulfills the following GE requirements:  1) ‘Historical Study,’ 2) ‘Culture & Ideas or Historical Study,’ 3) Open Option, and 4) ‘Global Studies’.” It is confusing because the statement is partly advising information. Request to change the statement to “This course fulfills the following GE requirements:  1) ‘Historical Study’ and 2) ‘Global Studies’.”  
• p. 2: Historical Study goals and expected learning outcomes are outdated. Please use new language. See here: http://asccas.osu.edu/curriculum/ge-goals-and-learning-outcomes  
• Underneath the expected learning outcomes for Historical Study and underneath the expected learning outcomes for Global Studies, there are two paragraphs: “Rationale for fulfilling the GE Learning Outcomes for Historical Study” and “Rationale for fulfilling the GE Learning Outcomes for Global Studies.” These paragraphs are very generic. The faculty member should provide course-specific information here. The course learning outcomes on p. 3 could be removed/integrated in the paragraphs mentioned above (the ones that should be course-specific)  
• Syllabus: Flesh out the assignments. Provide information about the length and format of all papers and other assignments.
• Obtain concurrence from AAAS.
