The Honors Panel did not approve the course based on the following:

If the instructor wants to admit students to the course that are not in the Honors program they already have the option to do so.

It is not clear how the proposed change benefits the students or the Honors program.

The change could make the class fill up faster which could eliminate space for H-students or drop the level of discourse because the lack of screening means that unprepared students may be admitted.

The ASC Honors Committee and the Honors & Scholars Center must be involved in these types of requests, which alter university-wide standard enrollment prerequisites for honors courses.
