Dear Frank,

This note is to confirm that I have been meeting with you and Garry

McKenzie over the last couple of years to help develop courses that would benefit students in new and existing major specliaizatrions in theInternational Studies.  For me, these discussions have been both rewardingand fruitful and I would like to endorse enthusiastically the five newcourses for which I have seen the syllabi.  These are GS310, GS410, GS411,GS420 and GS425.

These are exciting courses and will fit neatly into my  proposal (soon to be submitted now that these courses are so far along) to add a B.S. optionto the current B.A. in International Studies.  Judging by our preliminary"market research" among our 750 or so majors, the B.S. should attract two to three hundred majors.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and Garry for includingme in your plans and I don't doubt that our cooperation will work to our mutual advantage.
