Administrative | Dear Professors Glynn and Shanda,
I writing to pass on to you comments regarding the Media minor from
Subcommittee A of ASCCI, the committee responsible for vetting your proposal.
First let me say that the committee was very impressed with the proposal and
thinks that the minor will be a valuable addition to the curriculum. However,
before making a decision on the proposal, we need some additional information.
At your earliest convenience, would you please e-mail me responses to the
following?
Please provide more information about how students will declare the minor? For
example, where will students go if they want to declare the minor, who has the
authority to OK the minor program form?
Do students need to be communication or theatre majors to have the minor? It is
our understanding that some of the communications courses are restricted. If
students are not communication majors, will it be problematic for them to take
the necessary coursees?
Please comment on the courses included in the minor, e.g. why are those courses
in particular included?; what is the current seat availability for the
courses?; how often are they offered?; what are the prereqs?.
Please provide additional details concerning the assessment plan: include
student learning goals (which differ from "Project Goals") in section VIII;
comment on assessment feedback mechanisms that will be used.
